Enjoy culture with a cochlear implant

Going to the cinema, theater or concerts are great leisure activities. However, they can be challenging for people with hearing loss. A cochlear implant can help here.

Experience culture without barriers

Several cinemas or theaters have offers designed to make it easier for hearing-impaired visitors to listen in: Subtitles (in the local language or in the original), which can either be projected directly onto the screen or received via dedicated apps.

There are also systems for induction coils or telecoils, which are designed to make the cinema experience accessible to everyone. With these systems, the soundtrack of the movie is transmitted directly to the audio processor to make it easier to experience culture with a cochlear implant.

In museums, audio guides are now commonplace as electronic museum guides. Here too, a direct connection to the audio processor is usually possible without any problems.

Talk about it

If you are still worried that it might be difficult to follow the plot of the film or play, the right preparation and follow-up work usually helps: watch the trailer in advance, read a rough description of the plot and familiarize yourself with the characters.

Discussing what you have just seen afterwards can not only clarify open questions, but also offer a deeper understanding and new, exciting insights into the work.
