Hazemi

My name is Hazemi, I live in Vienna and I have a daughter who is fitted with cochlear implants on both sides. We found out right after the birth that our daughter was deaf. Of course it was a shock for us, we were insecure, scared and sad. But we wanted her to have normal hearing and speech development, so we decided to have her implanted.
The more information I had, the more confident I felt in my decision. So I would advise everyone to do a lot of research and get information from many sources. It can also help to get in touch with people who speak your native language. This may make it easier to communicate on this topic.
