My name is Sascha, I live in Klagenfurt and I have a unilateral implant. After several hearing losses since 2011, the doctors determined that I needed to be fitted with a hearing aid in my right ear. However, this turned out to be insufficient at some point and I was implanted at Klagenfurt Hospital in June 2019. Since then, I have been wearing a cochlear implant on my right ear. At this point, I am bimodal, which means I have a hearing aid in my left ear.
Since my implantation, my life has become more colorful and happier. When I hear words and sounds, I am really touched and I am even very proud of my decision to have an implant.
My most important tip
A hearing problem should always be closely monitored and you should never hesitate to accept possible treatment options without fear. It is very important to ask questions if you have any. Because there are no stupid questions.
